New Zealand Soldier buried after 95 years

The remains of a New Zealand soldier, discovered in 2009 by a local Longueval resident were laid to rest amongst his comrades on the 16th February 2011. I was pleased to be able to attend the ceremony at Caterpillar Valley Cemetery. The discovery of two Auckland collar badges identified this man as a New Zealander and although we will never know his name, his headstone bears the New Zealand fern.
